Sally Loughridge is a UK based British artist, whose figurative work has been greatly influenced by her background as a costume designer for theatre, television and film. The velvety lines, rich textures and strong tonal contrasts achievable with the drypoint medium enable the artist to establish a dynamic narrative, and represent the dramatic light and shade of the natural landscape. In her monotypes, Sally combines painting with print, using brushed ink to allow a fluid depiction of the delicate nuances of water reflections and ripples.
Sally trained in Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing - Oxford University, Theatre Design at Croydon College and Printmaking at Morley College. She has exhibited her work in central London galleries, including The Royal Academy, Bankside, The Mall Galleries and Dulwich Picture Gallery. Sally Loughridge is a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art.
