A pressed frond of maidenhair fern in a deep mount with papered bevel.  It was presented to Mary Robinson, 7th President of Ireland, by the Reform Club.  The mount was inscribed above the opening with the Reform Club's insignia, and below the opening with a dedication.  The frame was made up of two mouldings, gessoed and water gilded with 22 carat gold leaf.  A shamrock motif was scored into the gesso at the corners and burnished.

The frame measures 46 x 34 cms.
